Oxygen plants for applications with medium-sized oxygen demands.

Summary

The different types of medium-sized oxygen plant are listed and reference made to oxygen-user applications. Demands in the range of about 40-400 metric ton per day are covered in this brief survey which includes applications in glass making, pulp and paper, environmental, combustion processes, chemicals and non-ferrous metallurgy. Cryogenics, pressure swing adsorption (PSA) and vacuum swing adsorption (VSA) oxygen plant characteristics for product purity, pressure and relative costs are related to a number of these varied applications and general guidelines mentioned.
