Summary

THESE ARE PLATE TYPE EXCHANGERS, THE SPACE BETWEEN PARALLEL PLANE PLATES BEING FILLED WITH CORRUGATED PLATES. THE PLANE AND CORRUGATED PLATES ARE STACKED AND WELDED TOGETHER IN ORDER TO FORM A COMPACT EXCHANGER WITH A LARGE SURFACE. A WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE ABSORPTION AND ZINC BROMIDE HEAT PUMP WAS MANUFACTURED WITH THIS EXCHANGER. THE AUTHORS STUDIED THE ABSORBER AS IT IS THE MOST CRITICAL ELEMENT. THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT WAS ABOUT 200 WATT/M2.K. THE REFRIGERATING CAPACITY RANGED BETWEEN 1.0 AND 6.0 KILOWATT.
