Summary
THE PAPER COMPARES HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP IN SMOOTH, LOW-FIN, AND MICRO-FIN TUBING FOR MIXTURES OF R22 AND OIL. AS EXPECTED, WITH RISING OIL CONCENTRATION, PRESSURE DROP INCREASES, WHEREAS HEAT TRANSFER MAY INCREASE WITH LOW OIL CONCENTRATIONS BUT DECREASE WITH HIGH. A COMBINED FACTOR SHOWS INCREASED PERFORMANCE, IN ALL CASES TESTED, FOR AUGMENTED SURFACE TUBES AS AGAINST SMOOTH TUBES, AND GENERALLY BETTER PERFORMANCE WITH MICRO-FIN COMPARED WITH LOW-FIN.
