Summary

CO2, as the friendly nature refrigerant, is paid more amd more attention in low temperatuer field. In order to measure the performace of the separate heat pipe using CO2 as the working fluid, the experiments with different refrigerant charges were carried out in low temperature, including 850g, 950g , 1100g, 1200g, 1300g , 1400g and 1500g, representing the charge rate of 32.5%, 36.5%, 42%, 44.5%, 49.5%, 53.5% and 57.5%. The results show that the heat transfer coefficeent is the biggest when the charge rate is 42%. When the charge rate is over 53.5%, there is a temperature fluctuation in the controlled environment and the amplitude will extend with the increase of the charge rate.
