Performance of two door refrigerators retrofitted with a hydrocarbon blend.
Author(s) : DEVOTTA S., MURTHY M., SAWANT N.
Summary
The performance characteristics of an Indian two-doors direct-cooled refrigerator, retrofitted with a hydrocarbon blend refrigerant, have been studied and compared with the baseline data with CFC-12. The performance with the hydrocarbon blend has been studied first with the designated viscosity grade mineral oil, i.e. ISO VG 15 followed by ISO VG 22 grade mineral oil and optimised with respect to the refrigerant charge. The performance with the optimised charge, with ISO VG 22 is very much close to the baseline data. Some safety aspects have to be considered.
