Person in a uniform airflow: effect of local exhaust on the exposure.
Author(s) : KULMALA I., SÄÄMÄNEN A., WELLING I., et al.
Summary
Several studies have shown that an operator in a unidirectional airflow can be exposed to high concentration levels if the air flows from behind the operator and the contaminant source is within the wake region. However, although the flow past the worker has been widely investigated, few studies exist on the control of exposure. The effect of local exhaust on the worker's exposure was examined both experimentally and numerically.
