Summary
STUDY OF DIFFUSION OF COPPER ATOMS IN SOLID XENON CRYSTALS, THE SAMPLES BEING IRRADIATED WITH LIGHT AT FREQUENCIES WITHIN THE ABSORPTION BAND OF ISOLATED COPPER ATOMS. THE PHOTO-INDUCED DIFFUSIVITY D HAS BEEN DETERMINED FROM MEASURED TIME VARIATIONS OF THE INTENSITY OF THE IMPURITY ABSORPTION BAND WITH RESONANCE IRRADIATION. THE ESTIMATED VALUE OF D AT 10 K WITH MEDIATE PUMPING IS LARGER THAN 1.8 . 10 POWER -17 CM2/SEC. THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS OBTAINED ALLOW TO CONCLUDE THAT THE ELEMENTARY DIFFUSION ACTS HAS AN EXCHANGE NATURE.
