Plant categories and protection of the environment. General texts. Nomenclature.

Installations classées pour la protection de l'environnement. Textes généraux. Nomenclature.

Type of monograph: Book

Summary

General legislative texts concerning plant categories govern most dangerous or polluting industries and regular activities. Legislation aims at preventing all risks and harmful effects, whether in the form of atmospheric or water pollution, waste or aesthetic considerations, induced by these plants. Activities termed polluting or dangerous are defined in a "nomenclature" list which requires plants to be declared or authorized. Moreover, these plants can also be governed by technical regulations specified by the Government for plants which must be declared.
