Plate heat exchangers in thermosiphon systems.

Author(s) : STENHEDE C.

Summary

With the trend towards indirect refrigeration systems in large commercial systems such as cold stores, freezers, supermarkets and also air-conditioning plants, there will be only one or two large evaporators. These are often built as thermosiphons, especially if ammonia is used as refrigerant. The paper describes the correct installation and operation of thermosiphon systems and some pitfalls to avoid.
