Pool boiling heat transfer of propane/i-butane/n-butane mixtures: example for other ternary mixtures as new refrigerants.

Summary

The results show that besides the knowledge of thermophysical properties, detailed experimental information about the heat transfer behaviour of ternary mixtures is necessary for the energy optimized design of refrigeration cycles with such mixtures as working media. The influences of heat flux, pressure, composition and vapour production being more complicated and the calculation methods for heat transfer coefficient being less reliable than for pure substances, measurements are more crucial.
