Potential applications of CO2 systems in developing countries with high ambient temperature.

Summary

Cascaded subcritical CO2 systems are the most adapted and practical carbon dioxide applications for high ambient temperatures. The cascade system is a solution that enables complete condensation in subcritical CO2 systems at constant temperature and pressure, particularly in hot/warm climate countries. This paper will compare the energy performance of various CO2 systems applied in warm climate conditions. The performance of a particular MT and LT CO2 system running subcritically with a water/ground source as a heat sink will be theoretically investigated to improve the energy performance of cascaded subcritical systems. The economic and environmental performance of CO2 systems will be compared and tailored for developing countries.
