Potential heat pump and refrigeration applications.
Author(s) : MURPHY S., MCGOVERN J. A.
Summary
The paper describes a process whereby, with the advances in turbo-machinery, an air cycle heat pump or refrigeration system is now feasible in certain applications where the slight increase in energy costs can be compensated for by savings in other areas. The most suitable applications for immediate development using air cycle systems are identified using quantitative methods and would seem to be industrial blast freezing, transport container refrigeration and fabric drying (either industrial or domestic).
