Prediction of the circulating composition of a zeotropic mixture in a refrigerant cycle.

Summary

A theoretical analysis is developed to predict the circulating composition of a zeotropic mixture in a refrigerant cycle. The predicted circulating compositions are compared with experimental results, which are obtained for R32/R134a mixture. As a result of theoretical analysis, even when no excess refrigerants are present, the existing composition of R32 in the cycle indicates a minimum value near the center of the evaporator. In addition, the circulating composition increases in conjunction with increases in amount of excess refrigerant in the accumulator, which has shown good agreement with the experimental results.
