Primary energy savings and renewable energy utilization by heat pumps.

Number: pap. ID: 464

Author(s) : HAVELSKÝ V.

Summary

This paper is concerned with the problems of heat pumps operation evaluation from the point of view of primary energy savings and renewable energy utilization. The quantitative values of these energy flows are evaluated for vapour compression heat pumps driven by electric motor in comparison with conventional heat generation by combustion of fossil fuels in boilers. It is shown that for calculation of real values of mentioned energy flows it is necessary to take in consideration the share of electricity produced by fossil fuels combustion in total gross production of electricity in individual country. Then it is possible to determine the real values of primary energy savings and renewable energy utilization by heat pumps operation in comparison with conventional heat generation.
