Summary
The optimum storage temperature and relative humidity for litchis were 2-4 deg C and 90-95%, respectively. Under controlled atmosphere storage (3-5% CO2 and 3-5% O2), the temperature could be increased by 1-2 deg C (4 deg C); under these conditions fruits could be stored for 40 days. Under natural low temperatures, fruits soaked for 2 minutes in a warm (50 deg C) solution of Benlate (benomyl) and packed in plastic boxes covered with PVC film could be kept fresh for 7 days.
