Summary

This special edition of the journal "Energy Conversion and Management" contains the 128 papers presented at the IEA conference, held in London, United Kingdom, August 22-25, 1995. The aim of the conference was to cover practical issues, investigate what is happening now and look towards future R&D requirements. A wide variety of topics were covered including ways of dealing with carbon dioxide, methane, oxides of nitrogen and other gases from a variety of sources. Both policy and the practical aspects were considered.
