Summary
pvTx measurements were done on R134a and R23 mixtures, and a refrigerant compressor was used to measure refrigerating capacity, end compression temperature, compression pressure, isentropic efficiency and volumetric efficiency in a real installation. Mixtures were thus found that are suitable for the medium and low temperatures in refrigerating and air-conditioning machines, especially as substitutes for R22. Mixtures with 2-8% by weight of R23 were found to possess excellent refrigerating qualities.
