R134A AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR R12 IN AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS.
LE R134A EN SUBSTITUTION DU R12 POUR LA CLIMATISATION AUTOMOBILE.
Author(s) : DELDICQUE A.
Summary
THE AUTHOR BRIEFLY DISCUSSES THE REASONS WHICH JUSTIFY THE ADOPTION OF R134A, AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR R12, IN AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS. THE DIFFERENT PROBLEMS WHICH ARISE FROM ITS USE ARE MENTIONED ; SOME ARE SOLVED, OTHERS ARE UNDER STUDY (LUBRICANTS AND RELATED PROBLEMS, EXCHANGERS, EXPANSION VALVES, SEALS, DEHYDRATORS). COMPARATIVE TESTS HAVE BEEN CARRIED OUT IN A WIND TUNNEL, BETWEEN EQUIPMENT WITH R12 AND EQUIPMENT WITH R134A. THEIR PROMISING RESULTS MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO TARGET THE MODIFICATIONS AND OPTIMIZATIONS REQUIRED. J.R.
