Summary
In the field of retrofitting automobile air conditioning system, the Energy & Resources Laboratories of the Industrial Technology Research Institute has done several R&D projects aiming at decreasing the use of R12 and reducing the impact done by CFC phase out. The paper provides test results of a fleet test of 19 passenger's cars and a fleet test of 6 buses during the past 4 years. Informations on retrofitting automobile air conditioners and promotion processes to general public in Taiwan is also discussed.
