THE WORKING PAIR R22-E181 (DIMETHYL ETHER OF TETRAETHYLENE GLYCOL) WAS THE OBJECT OF SEVERAL STUDIES FOR ITS USE IN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS. THE SAME CHARACTERISTICS MAKE THIS MIXTURE INTERESTING FOR ITS USE IN SOLAR COOLING. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE PERFORMANCE OF A TEST COOLING PLANT USING R22-E 181 AS BINARY SYSTEM. IN THIS WAY, THE EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES IN THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS, THE EFFICIENCY OF THE ABSORBER AND THE GENERATOR ARE INCLUDED AUTOMATICALLY. A COMPARISON IS MADE WITH SOLAR ABSORPTION COOLING SYSTEMS USING OTHER MIXTURES.
