Summary

THE SOLAR SYSTEM DESCRIBED HAS JAPAN'S LARGEST COLLECTOR AREA, 1,912 M2, AND IS UTILIZED FOR A VARIETY OF PURPOSES SUCH AS HEATING AND COOLING, HOT WATER SUPPLY, AND POOL WATER HEATING. OPERATED BY A MINICOMPUTER, THIS SYSTEM IS DESIGNED SO THAT THE MINIMUM AUXILIARY HEAT CAN BE MAINTAINED AT SELECTED HEATING LOAD IN ACCORDANCE WITH ANTICIPATED HEAT COLLECTION. IN THE COOLING SYSTEM, AN ABSORPTION-TYPE REFRIGERATING MACHINE IS USED AS A SOLAR HEAT PUMP. IN OTHER WORDS, WASTE HEAT FROM THE CONDENSER IS USED TO PREHEAT HOT WATER SUPPLY.
