Summary
FOR SIZING OF HEAT EXTRACTION SYSTEMS FROM THE GROUND BY A HEAT PUMP HAS BEEN DEVELOPED A MODEL, THAT GIVES A RAPID SIMULATION OF TRANSIENT HEAT CONDUCTION IN THE GROUND, AND THE FREEZING OF THE SOIL NEAR THE PIPE. THE ACCURACY OF THE MODEL IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR THERMAL PERFORMANCE CALCULATIONS. THE CHANGES OF SOIL WATER CONTENT AND THE COUPLED HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN THE SOIL ARE NEGLECTED.
