Spanish translation of a review article published in the IIR Bulletin 96-6 (see ref. 97-0688). The paper focuses on the current state of the art on possible alternative refrigerants to replace HCFC-22 which is being applied almost exclusively in conventional air-conditioning and heat-pumping equipment worldwide. Special emphasis is also given to recent progress in thermodynamic property studies on binary and/or ternary HFC refrigerant mixtures and some recent findings on cycle performance using these HFC mixtures.
