Number: pap. ID: 922

Author(s) : BURYAN P., BORSKA J., SCHUSTR P.

Summary

The paper describes the technology for Recycling of rejected fridges and low temperature capturing of the ODS (Ozone Depleting Substances). This technology corresponds to Czech and EU standards and is operating since the year 2005. Technology consists of two stages: 1st stage - dismounting of the fridges, capturing &elaborating of the working fluids (CFC, HCFC, Freon or hydrocarbon refrigerants and oil) 2nd stage - insulation box destroying and capturing of the foaming agents (CFC, HCFC, Freons or hydrocarbons) Low temperature ODS capturing process is described from the points of technology, emission limits and explosion safety. Captured ODS of the recycled fridges and application of the recycled materials are discussed.
