Summary

The article presents a comparison between two programs for calculating the thermodynamic properties of blends of pure refrigerants. A comparison between the two programs REFPROP and THERMOBLEND by the Centre d'Energétique of the Ecole des Mines in Paris, is based on an air-conditioning application, operating either with R22, R407C or R410A. Results are analyzed for COP. Also discussed are the volumetric production of refrigeration, the discharge temperature of the compressor, the compression rate, the evaporating and condensating pressures, and the isentropic efficiency.
