Type of monograph: Book, Guide/Handbook

Summary

In the field of refrigeration and air conditioning, refrigerant containment is of primary importance to preserve the ozone layer and to reduce the greenhouse effect. This book brings together useful knowledge enabling companies to choose suitable equipment and to apply the technical actions necessary in order to reconcile efficiency of the interventions on the building site and compliance with the regulations. The work was carried out within the framework of the research and development programme of the Board of technical affairs of the FFB (French building industry federation), in collaboration with Ademe and EDF. A set of sheets helping all companies to prepare the basis of a "refrigerant quality" plan is also included. Extract from the table of contents: tightness of refrigeration circuits (brazed fittings; screwed fittings); leak detection (definition; leak detection with portable machines; description of a research procedure); refrigerant recovery (classification and description of the recovery units; influence of the parameters on the improvement of the recovery; fluid transfer procedures; advantages and disadvantages of the different modes of transfer; circuit refrigerant charge and preliminary operation); refrigerant containment and quality (general description of a quality plan; procedure guide).
