Refrigeration cycle simulation. Application to LNG plant in Algeria.

Simulation du cycle frigorifique. Application de l'installation de GNL en Algérie.

Author(s) : REBIAI R., BELMEDANI M.

Summary

The performance of the natural gas liquefaction plant is generally related to different elements of the plant (compressor, heat exchanger, expansion valve, purification system, separator, etc.) and to the composition of gas mixture refrigerant. In one of the liquefaction plant of Algeria a multi-component refrigerant is used: a mixture of nitrogen, methane, ethane, propane, at variables concentrations. The results of the studies give clear indication on the effect of the composition's variation on the performance of the refrigeration cycle. The data presented in the communication allow the determination of performance of the refrigeration cycle as function of different temperature out put of the cryogenic exchanger and the composition of the gas mixture as well as the variation of the LNG rate for different values of the cryogenic exchanger's temperature out put.
