Summary
Refrigerated Transport equipment has strongly developed during the last 60 years in line with the development of food exchange worldwide. Food safety can now be achieved throughout transport and logistics operations that for decades were the critical point of the cold chain. But this equipment that is situated at the crossroads of refrigeration and transport is now facing the challenges of sustainability and environmental performance. Even though many technical solutions have been tested during the past decades, there is still a lot of room for improvement. The challenge is important and essential. This article presents 26 possible scientific and technical challenges for refrigerated transport equipment designers, manufacturers, users or experts.
