Summary

An original binary ice preparation by vacuum method is proposed in this paper. In this system vacuum was maintained by a low power vacuum pump combined with a low-temperature condensing coil which condensed vapour. The low power vacuum pump only played a supporting role, working intermittently for pumping a small amount of non-condensable gas into the ice-making tank. Through research, it could be concluded that the system can completely achieve the necessary high vacuum of which vacuum ice-making required by the vapor condensation. Results proved that system runs steadily, and vacuum maintained in good condition in the ice-making tank. Compared to ordinary ice making, the evaporating coil temperature rose and flashed vapour could be caught effectively. Besides, factors effecting on the temperature declining rate and ice content are investigated in this paper.
