Summary
As a natural fluid, R744 is an attractive alternative to synthetic fluids in heat pump systems. Extensive research and development work on R744 heat pump technology have been carried out in the last decade. The authors present the research status of R744 heat pump prototypes and other main components such as compressors, heat exchangers and expansion valves.
