Summary
Results of compressor calorimeter tests are summarized and evaluated. Capacities and efficiencies achieved with the alternatives are examined as a ratio to those achieved with the baseline refrigerant (R22 or R502). Several alternatives are found to perform almost as well, and sometimes better than the baseline refrigerant in compressors not optimized for the alternative. No single alternative appears as a universal replacement for either R22 or R502.
