Summary

MECHANICAL RESONANCE IN JAMES GRIEVE APPLES DEVELOPS WITH STORAGE TIME; HOWEVER, THE ACCURACY OF MEASUREMENTS IS NOT SUFFICIENT. THE METHOD SHOULD BE IMPROVED ON TWO POINTS: BETWEEN THE RESONATOR AND THE APPLE THERE SHOULD BE NO RUBBER RING HAVING AN ABSORBING EFFECT. THE ACCELERATION OF OSCILLATION SHOULD ALSO BE LOWER THAN 1 G, WHICH WILL RAISE PROBLEMS FOR THE MEASURING PROCESS. THE AGREEMENT WITH SENSORY TESTS IS GOOD.
