Summary

The importation of LNG in Japan is growing rapidly year by year and the transportation of LNG has received increasing importance. The Alaska-Negishi LNG project in 1969 was the first to be realized in Japan. LNG volume transported overland has steadily increased, and 26 LNG satellite terminals are currently in operation. The paper presents a review and discussion on the developed status of LNG importation, receiving terminal, overland transportation and satellite terminal in Japan.
