Summary
The safety concept for the chillers and the machine room is aimed at minimizing the hazard potential of ammonia by paying attention to its safety-relevant properties. This concept permits to use safely high-capacity, environmentally sound, ammonia-filled refrigerating systems in much-frequented urban areas, provided that the relevant regulations are observed. Thanks to the classification of the installation conditions it is possible to calculate the costs of the safety concept as early as during the planning stage.
