Second virial coefficients for R32, R125, R134a, R143a, R152a and their binary mixtures.

Summary

The Burnett measurements for the gaseous HFCs including R32, R125, R134a, R143a and R152a have been accomplished for the last several years. The second virial coefficients of the HFCs were derived from the Burnett measurements in the range of 290-420 K. The measurements for R143a were completed very recently and the data previously measured for other refrigerants were reanalyzed by means of a data-processing procedure developed by the present authors. Using the correlation for the second virial coefficients proposed by the authors, the second virial coefficients of R32, R125, R134a, R143a and R152a are discussed. The second virial coefficients for the R32-R134a binary mixture are also assessed on the basis of the correlations for the pure refrigerants and the data for mixtures obtained recently in our laboratory. The results show that the developed correlation for the mixtures represents the experimental values with a satisfactory agreement.
