SELECTING THE SIZE OF PIPES CARRYING HOT GAS TO DEFROST EVAPORATORS.

Author(s) : STOECKER W. F.

Summary

HOT GAS DEFROSTING CAN BE OBTAINED WITH SMALL PRESSURE DIFFERENCE. THE HOT GAS FLOW RATE SHOULD BE DETERMINED IN TERMS OF DEFROSTING TIME, THE REFRIGERANT AND ITS SATURATION TEMPERATURE. THE FLOW RATE DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF EVAPORATOR AND LINE LENGTH. PRESSURE LOSS DECREASES SATURATION TEMPERATURE. GRAPHS DEVELOPED FOR R717, R22 AND R502 ENABLE ONE TO CALCULATE LOSSES IN K PER METRE.
