Summary
The influence of pipe diameter on the energy consumption of the water pump and the ground heat exchanger performance is analyzed in detail. Five kinds of different pipe diameter were selected to analyse the condition of the constant water f10w in pipe. The results showed that an appropriate increase in pipe diameter can reduce the frictional resistance caused by water flowing in pipe, and reduce the energy consumption of the water pump; a decrease in pipe diameter can enhance the convection heat transfer between the circulating water and the pipe wall. A comprehensive consideration should be given to determining an optimal pipe diameter.
