Author(s) : NIEDZIELSKI Z.

Summary

BRUSSELS SPROUTS AND SPINACH WERE STORED IN MIXTURES OF 7% OXYGEN AND 2, 8, 14, 20% CO2 FOR BRUSSELS SPROUTS AND 4, 9, 14, 19% CO2 FOR SPINACH. IN THE SAME TIME, SAMPLES WERE STORED IN AIR. IN A CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE CONTAINING 7% O2 AND 8% CO2 THE STORAGE LIFE OF BRUSSELS SPROUTS REACHED 80 DAYS ; FOR SPINACH IN AN ATMOSPHERE WITH 7% O2 AND 4 OR 9% CO2, STORAGE LIFE MAY BE TWICE LONGER THAN IN NORMAL AIR AND REACH 30 DAYS.
