EXPERIMENTAL AND CLINICAL STUDIES ON CRYOPRESERVATION OF HUMAN FETAL LIVER CELLS.

Author(s) : LIU Z.

Summary

THIRTY-SEVEN CASES OF HUMAN FETAL LIVER CELLS WERE STORED IN LIQUID NITROGEN FOR PERIODS OF 1 TO 793 DAYS. THE VIABILITY OF CELLS AFTER THAWING SHOWS THAT CRYOPRESERVATION IS AN EFFECTIVE MEASURE TO PRESERVE THE CELLS CONCERNED. SO FAR, 11 PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM APLASTIC ANEMIA, LEUKEMIA OR LIVER DISEASE HAVE RECEIVED THE INFUSIONS OF CRYOPRESERVED FETAL LIVER CELLS, WITH BENEFICIAL RESULTS AND NO HARMFUL SIDE EFFECTS.
