Summary

Data have been collected in recent years on the possibilities for short-term preservation of spermatozoids and ovulae, either in the genital tract or in vitro, after harvest. Keeping times vary widely from species to species, from sire to sire within the same species, and according to storage conditions, particularly temperature.
