Summary
In the paper, the definition, classification and characters of thermophysical properties of fluids are reviewed, as well as the philosophy and experimental techniques in their research. In order to select the best CFC alternatives for every application, the necessary properties are enumerated in view of safety, health and physico-chemical properties. The possible candidates are listed, including HCFCs, HFCs, fluorinated alcohols and ethers.
