Summary

In the study the thawing problem is defined for the general case of two dimensional (2D) heat transfer which also has applications for the three dimensional case. Instead of modifying the computer program to calculate the thawing problem for each individual case, a buffer matrix is provided that holds the shape of the investigated object. As a consequence of this approach, the package offers user friendly solutions to the 2D thawing problem for arbitrary shaped objects. The solution of the problem has been presented as an example for an ellipsoidal object.
