SIMULATION OF MICROFREEZING OF BIOLOGICAL SUBSTANCES.
Author(s) : HAYASHI Y., MOMOSE N.
Summary
A SIMPLIFIED STRUCTURAL MODEL CONSISTING OF TWO KINDS OF CELLU LAR GROUPS IS PRESENTED. THE FREEZING OF BIOLOGICAL SUBSTANCES WAS SIMULATED, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE FOLLOWING PARAMETERS: OSMOTIC WATER FLOW ACROSS CELL MEMBRANES, EXTRA-AND INTRA-CELLULAR VOLUME CHANGES, FRACTION OF SOLID ICE, NUMBER OF INTRA-CELLULAR ICE PARTICLES AND THEIR SIZE, ETC.
