SIMULATIONS OF A HEAT TRANSFORMER CYCLE WITH 4 DIFFERENT WORKING FLUIDS.

Author(s) : WIMBY J. M.

Summary

THE AUTHOR SIMULATED THE OPERATION OF A SINGLE-STAGE ABSORPTION HEAT TRANSFORMER BY MEANS OF A MODEL IN ORDER TO COMPARE FOUR MIXTURES: WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE, WATER-SULPHURIC ACID, WATER-SODIUM HYDROXIDE AND WATER-PHOSPHORIC ACID. THE FIRST THREE MIXTURES GIVE SIMILAR RESULTS WITH REGARD TO COP AND EXERGETIC EFFICIENCY. PHOSPHORIC ACID GIVES A SMALLE THE TRANSPORT PROPERTIES AFFECT THE DIMENSIONING OF EXCHANGER SURFACES OF THE HEAT TRANSFORMER. LITHIUM BROMIDE AND SULPHURIC ACID HAVE THE LOWEST VISCOSITIES WHICH IS FAVOURABLE. THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY SHOULD BE AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE AS IT IS THE CASE WITH SODIUM HYDROXIDE.
