Single-phase heat transfer in microchannels: rectangular vs. circular.

Author(s) : CELATA G. P., CHMIEL K., MCPHAIL S. J., et al.

Summary

A collaborative experimental investigation has taken place to explicitly determine the differences in behaviour of diabatic fluid flow between square and circular microchannels. Two hydraulic diameters have been taken into consideration. Results have been obtained on friction factor and on heat transfer coefficients in laminar-to-transitional flow of distilled water, attempting to have the range and conditions of experimentation overlapping as much as possible.
