SOLAR-POWERED/FUEL-ASSISTED RANKINE CYCLE POWER AND COOLING SYSTEM: SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS.

Author(s) : LIOR N., KOAI K.

Type of article: Article

Summary

STUDY OF A VAPOUR COMPRESSION COOLING SYSTEM POWERED BY A STEAM TURBINE WORKING ON A HYBRID RANKINE CYCLE IN WHICH THE STEAM IS GENERATED BY THE USE OF SOLAR ENERGY COLLECTED AT ABOUT 100 DEG C, THEN SUPERHEATED TO ABOUT 600 DEG C IN A SUPERHEATER SUPPLIED BY A FOSSIL FUEL. RESULTS OF A SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF THE SYSTEM TO THE SIZE AND TYPE OF THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS, VIA COMPUTER SIMULATION DURING AUGUST IN TWO REPRESENTATIVE CLIMATIC AREAS, VIZ WASHINGTON, DC AND PHOENIX, ARIZ.
