Solid sorption refrigerators.

Summary

Solid sorption Nax zeolite-ammonia, carbon fiber-ammonia and complex compound carbon fiber-calcium chloride-ammonia refrigerators heated and cooled by heat pipe heat exchangers are developed and tested with mean cold output up to 120 watts. Such heat machines have the cold output 300 watts/kg of sorbent bed and could be used for the air cooling down to -20 deg C, chilled water feeding (cooling 10 dm3 canister from 12 to 1 deg C for three hours), or ice production. COP for one canister cooler is 0.4, for two canister coolers with heat recovery COP is increased up to 0.6.
