Summary

The absorption refrigeration cycle is important for energy saving which can be driven by low-grade energy. The authors consider the trifluoromethane (HFC-23) + N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) binary mixture as a promising new working fluid or part of new working fluid for the absorption cycle. Vapor-liquid equilibrium data of the mixture HFC-23 + DMF have been measured in the temperature range from 283.15 to 363.15 K by an equilibrium apparatus in which vapor phase is continuously recirculated. The experimental data are correlated with an Antoine-type equation. The average relative deviation between the experimental data and calculated results is 1.8%, and the results show a good agreement with the experimental data.
