Summary

EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ARE REPORTED ON VARIOUS KINDS OF RESISTIVE MATERIALS WHICH WERE TESTED AT LOW TEMPERATURES. THE ELECTRICAL CURRENT MEASURING THE RESISTANCE GENERATES HEAT. THE INFLUENCES OF THIS HEATING POWER AND THE MATERIAL THICKNESS ON THE R-T DEPENDENCE WERE MEASURED. THE POWER PMT GIVING A RELATIVE TEMPERATURE INCREASE OF THE THERMOMETER OF 1%, TURNED OUT TO BE ONLY SLIGHTLY DEPENDENT ON THE TYPES OF THERMOMETERS, BUT STRONGLY TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT. ALSO MEASUREMENTS AND QUALITATIVE CALCULATIONS OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE DEHYDRATION ON A CMN THERMOMETER ARE GIVEN. THE SUSCEPTIBILITY OF PARTLY (50%) DEHYDRATED CMN WAS MEASURED DOWN TO 15 MK. BELOW 150 MK A DEVIATION OF THE CURIE LAW WAS MEASURED. AT 29 MK A MAXIMUM IN THE MAGNETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY APPEARS.
