Summary

A cylindrical, variable-path acoustic interferometer is developed for determining ideal-gas specific heats. The sound velocity of gaseous R134a has been measured at low temperatures and low pressures. A new relation for the ideal-gas specific heat as a function of temperature for R134a is obtained.
